Ladies, hope someone can help me? I was supposed to take pregnyl (hcg- trigger shot?) last night , but I read the instructions in my diary for administration of prontogest by accident- which goes intramuscular instead of subcutaneous! Everywhere I've read says that intramuscular injections are absorbed quicker than subcutaneous and obviously the hcg/ trigger shot is perfectly timed on purpose. Could this difference in time have messed up my egg collection?! Hoping someone can help me cause I feel a total idiot - I daren't even tell my husband never mind ring the hospital and ask them ?! 🙈😩 x

Pregnyl - nightmare? 😨
Don`t worry. I suppose you will have a result. The very important when the chemical enters the bloodstream
. Probably you will have less result, but it have to affect on your eggs. But, the best decision - go see the doctor. The sooner the better.
I hope everything will be fine.
Oh no! 🙈 With all the different medication it’s so easy to get it wrong isn’t it! Sorry, I have no idea on this one but it sounds like something you need to speak to your clinic about. The last thing you want is to get yourself psyched up for egg collection to find you’ve missed your window. Or spend all tonight worrying that that’s what may happen. I’m sure your clinic will have heard it before and will be able to put your mind at ease!
I did my pregnyl trigger shot subcutaneous 36 hours before egg collection if that helps.
Hey,
You must ring the clinic as soon as they open as it will probably be a different window of collection so you'll need to go at a different time I would imagine x
It's such an easy mistake to make but i would phone the hospital to discuss it with them.
Ok, give the hospital a ring. I messed up my pregnyl and got a shot in the hospital the next day - your egg collection may be affected too.
Hi Krushby89. How did your EC go? Did it matter that you’d taken then injection in a different place?
Hi sorry, only just seen this. No it didn't matter thankfully. Egg collection went well, 20 eggs from 24 follicles. But I did develop fairly severe ohss, I was admitted to hospital and put on a drip of human albumin solution, and I also have blood thinning injections for 3 weeks. Luckily though the drip worked it's magic pretty quick and I was able to transfer a 5 day hatching blastocyst! And we have one frostie too. I was hoping for a few more in the freezer (especially from 20 eggs) but it only takes one eh?!! 🙂🤞🏽
I'm new to the site.
I'm on my first round through ivf Australia. They have always done it in the stomach. They have one of the highest rates of conceiving in Australia. I had the same conversation with my clinic and they explained that it does the same thing.
I just did the same
Mistake ukh . Ud think after few ivf rounds I would get it right lol. I was searching the web for answers and came accross ur post. Hopefully it will work out 😢
I did the same thing! I have been so worried. I need to find out if I need to push my egg retrieval out now.
