Secret Facebook Group!

Hi everyone,

I hope that by writing this I do not offend anyone or upset you. I cherish this group as it has helped me through my IVF journey. I still pop in everyday to see how you all are getting on.

Since finding out I am pregnant with twins I have found myself lost a few times in my new journey. I have often private mailed others to ask questions as I don’t want to upset the group.

How would some of you feel about a secret Facebook group? It would be somewhere to post questions, tips photos etc. The group would be set so it was only members who could see who’s in it and can’t be seen by non-members. Which means it would be safe if you haven’t announced your pregnancy.

It’s only an idea. I hope your all well xxx

It’s a great idea but worth mentioning that there is one on there from fertility network uk. It’s private and is for pregnant women after ivf. I joined but left after my last miscarriage xx

Yeah it’s a private group. One of the admins posted it on here a couple of months back I think. No reason why you can’t still set up your own though xx

It’s a closed group which I think means that people can see you’re in it if they search for the group but you joining the group and any posts shouldn’t show up on your newsfeed. I can understand you not wanting to take the risk though. Maybe PM the admin to suggest it’s turned to a secret group?

So have been playing on FB tonight and it turns out that it recommends closed groups that it thinks you may like to join (presumably based on your other groups or some other cookie related intel). And shows pictures of your friends in those groups. So your friends may find out you’re in that group. So maybe not a good idea to join unless a) people know you’re pregnant and b) you don’t mind people knowing you’ve got/had fertility problems.

That’s why I have made it secret lovely. The group is called “secret group” and nobody can see who is in it. No one unless there a member will see anything xx
