Hi I’ve got a 2 month wait until they check my eggs womb etc, I was wondering if anyone can give me some information about what if I haven’t got many eggs what happens? What if my egg quality is low? I was thinking of trying to get an early private appointment to get these results as I’m stressing about the outcome. Any advice would be really appreciated xx

Hello LGCD, at my clinic (and as far as I know this is the same for most others) I had an AMH test at my consent appointment. This result gives an indication of your egg quantity and is used to decide which treatment protocol to put you on (short or long) and your dosage of medication. The AMH result is supposed to be a prediction of how you will respond to the stimulation drugs. With regards to egg quality, I don't think they really know this until after the eggs have been collected. I understand why you feel worried, awaiting tests and results is very stressful. I suppose you need to weigh up whether having the tests done early will change how quickly you can start your treatment or, if the result is not as positive as you'd like, whether it will make you feel more anxious while you wait. Hi LGCD. I'm with "Lou9"on this. It's not too long to wait, so try and be patient. Once you have your AMH result, they can then decide on a treatment protocol for you. I suppose if you want, you could test privately, early, but I think you will still end up being re-tested. Good luck with it all, and I hope that your cycle of treatment prescribed will be straightforward. Diane
