So I have been constipated now for nearly a full week. I'm currently on menopur and cetrotide. My scan was obstructed yesterday due to this. Can anyone recommend anything to help?

TMI Constipation
Hello! I've been suffering from the same following surgery under general anaesthetic- the lactulose seemed to do nothing, and I'm on metformin which can give diarrhoea- the only things that have worked for me (and to help with the pain of bloating) are ducolax and windeze!
I'll be starting menopur soon - is constipation a side effect?
Sorry you're feeling crap - are you working too? X
Yes I'm working and will continue to do so throughout? Are you planning on working?
I'm currently off sick for three weeks recovering from surgery (see my posts) then I'll be back at work full time until egg collection day - so I'll have to work while im on the drugs and having scans etc yes, not looking forward to the side effects whilst working I have to say! But I've been advised to take off egg collection through to embryo transfer by the clinic so that will be sick leave and then I'll have the 2ww off as annual leave. X
You could try the normal things, lactulose, senna or prunes along with drinking more water and higher fibre diet. If it's really not moving you can buy mini enemas from the chemist - a little unpleasant but it should get everything moving x
Prune juice (if you can stand it) can be pretty effective. I also use laxido now and again when I'm constipated, I find it works pretty well. I just mix it with water and diluting juice to disguise the taste xxx
I was on the same drugs as you hun and my clinic said I could use suppositories they are not nice by honestly do the trick! 🙈 I also use laxido laxilose is the same thing but mine with no sugar as I'm a type 1 diabetic xx
Prune juice is disgusting but Waitrose soft prunes are quite nice. Highly recommend them. Also without being graphic (!) Try to get into a squat position either by raising your feet up on 2-3 toilet rolls under each foot or simply squatting on the floor to try and get things going. Western toilets aren't the best for position to do number two's with the Asian way of squatting being alot better for the digestive tract.
Being pregnant I've really struggled and ended up buying a squatty potty. (Not a potty but something to rest your feet on to raise them up). Wouldn't live without it now and don't care how it looks to visitors.
