Today I had my official six weeks scan but discovered I am 7 weeks and 1 day! Rate heart was absolutely beautiful, and we are delighted. Think of going the private route or back to the USA for delivery not too keen on NHS. Any tips? My first midwife appt is in Oct!!!! So sticking private for now need to keep close watch as things progress and prefer a consultant not midwife as I am not a spring chicken and on high risk pregnancy by my gp yet first midwife appt is so far off...sorry again any tips?

Aw lovely picture glad all is well, I am NHS and consultant led so have monthly from 20 months onwards until baby is born xxx
From 20 weeks? But I want from now and I have not even been appointed a consultant on NHS. I live in Surrey I guess things are hospital specific?
They will assign you one at your midwife appointment, you will also have a 12 week scan x
Ok that is reassuring, not sure why my gp did not tell me this, I would have been less anxious, In the meantime I will continue on the private route as I have a 9 weeks and 12 weeks with blood test scheduled with them. They are testing blood clot etc to see if I need to stay on clexane but started my on aspirin. Thanks so much for this great info.
Lovely post 😊
Why so long a wait to see the midwife? xx
Lovely looking scan picture! Glad all ok xxx
Lindo Wing at St Mary's, London is excellent. Are you able to travel there? You will get your fantastic care during pregnancy and a private suite for delivery x
This would be perfect for you! Its in Chelsea and the care there is excellent
What a lovely pic!! Congrats xx
Congratulations!! That wait for the booking appt is insane though - when I got in touch with UCH the very next day they sent me a letter for a booking appointment only 2 weeks later - they do them all before 10 weeks. You could always go to one of the London hospitals although may be a pain from Surrey. X
You can ask your gp to send you for early scan, which they should anyway if you're high risk. You will then be consultant led at NHS hospital. For me that meant I could choose what I was happy with and I had an appt every three weeks, but could have chosen more regular than that. Remember if you go private you're likely to be seeing the same doctors anyway and the NHS consultants all do private work and it also doesn't mean your consultant will be available to you for delivery. But you will most like have nicer facilities and good food!
Hi Nkoko. Well done! Well attached little bean. All the best for your delivery in the USA if that's where you end up. I'm sure the NHS would look after you well too. Hope all goes well wherever you end up. Diane
