Brown cervical Mucus

Hi All

5 weeks and 2 days pregnant. No clue whatsoever as this is my first pregnancy.

I have a small amount of light brown cervical mucous at the moment.

Of course I panicked when I saw it.

Any clue if this is normal or good or bad?

Could be implantation bleeding ( the imp!anation does not completely finish until 13 days after it started)

I would either call your clinic or GP.

I bled day after positive test - spotting and continued bleeding with clots. The bleeding lasted two days but has terrified me ( even tho my pregnancy symptoms are increasing).

My GP has arranged a scan which is being done at early pregnancy unit this Friday ( which I'm dreading).

The rule of thumb is if it is not heavy and constant ( mine wasn't) and you aren't in pain it should be OK

. But any bleeding in Pregnancy should always be checked out.

My Fertility specialist has now issued progesterone pessaries- I've been taking Prednisone since I found out I was pregnant.

My GP has reassured me bleeding in early pregnancy is very common and most babies are fine.

The fact yours is brown is a good sign ( mine was bright red).

I would rest up as much as possible xoxo

Thanks Jess. It was a tiny amount. It was just a bit of mucous that was light brown on my panties. Going to stay positive. Due next week I think for the 6-7 week scan. Will be thinking of you on Friday xxx

Excellent advice from Jess to check it out. Can you see your gp and/call your clinic? When I had a panic, my clinic called the scan forward.

Hi Lisa, I cant imagine how scary it is being pregnant and having to deal with all these things! Hopefully the good thing is that it is just a little brown mucus and not fresh red blood! Thinking of you!xx

I miscarried 😞 But please don't let that scare you! Mine was a missed miscarriage so NOTHING to do with bleeding or brown spotting. I was still pregnant, all intact but baby had died. I had surgery afterwards.

I'm now due to take my test Friday after my third (and hopefully last!) tww xx
