HSG booked😵 and clomiphene for next cycle

To say I'm squeamish and a big baby at the best of times is being kind! I am so nervous and scared about this. Positive stories and words of encouragement this way please ladies!

Anyone have experience of using clomiphene? I have to take from day 2 or 3 of my next cycle, 2 tablets a day for 5 days. Not totally sure what it's for?

This consultation was through my NHS equivalent and wasn't too bad, I don't speak the language so it can be hit and miss on if the doctor is good in English. Got the tests I wanted booked so cannot complain🖒

In regards to the HSG, take some paracetamol an hour before. It's not the nicest but it's totally doable! You can do this! 💪🏻 X

HSG is doable but be sure to take painkillers before and give yourself the rest of the day to rest- for no other reason than you deserve it xx

Hi Nona84! Was just having a nosy at your posts, sounds like we have some similarities in our fertility quest. I'm a bit nervous about the clomid moodswings, I don't need any help there😄

Hi Macavela! Yes I think we have very similar situations. Are you under the NHS? The mood swings aren't fun but much easier to deal with once you can recognise that it's the hormones and not you xx

Hey!🙋 I'm from Scotland but live in Qatar, our 'NHS' equivalent is hit and miss, it's taken a while to get an appointment with a fertility doctor but hopefully now it'll be a decent pace. My next appointment with the doctor is 18th September. Before then I'm having HSG😷 and my internal ultra sound thing (I think you're doing the same?) Been advised not to try this month, it's quite liberating!😄🍸 then when I get my period will give clomid a go, wouldn't it be nice if that was the end if my fertility journey!🤞🤞

How you getting going through the NHS? Seems to be a bit of a geographical lottery, hope you've got a supportive and efficient health centre behind you👊🖒

Yeh we're under Oxfordshire, they've been ok so far, pretty efficient. I'm just starting cycle 2 of Clomid and getting my head around what a long journey it might be. Hearing from people in the same boat really helps xx

I'm so glad I found this website, so many good folk willing to share their wisdom, experiences and support. It's also a bit daunting to see just how long this fertility tunnel may be😧 but for now the plan of attack is clomid, it feels good to have something at least to be having a go with. Good luck with the scan and let me know how you're getting on clomid buddy😊

As others have said, HSG will be ok.., take pain relief and have the rest of the day off- rest with a hot water bottle.

HSG is uncomfortable but that's it. Very minor in comparison to labour! You said you didn't know what chlomid was for, it will help for your body to release more eggs than normal every month and hopefully boost your chances of conceiving. I got hot sweats with this medication but it did boost my ovulation further. Hope it works for you

Cheers Mrsjj for the clomid info, I'm slightly apprehensive and excited about it, imagine it worked!😃 the nurse told me it's relatively common to get pregnant after having the HSG and combined with clomid I'm praying for a bit of luck!

I just remember how hard and stressful it all was trying every month and failing. I'm good thanks I'm now 34 weeks and counting down the days to meet my son. I still watch the comments in case I can help anyone who might have been like me last year. This is such a great forum and nice to not feel like you are the only one x
