Hello,
has anyone had any cycles cancelled before egg collection. Would this be classed as 1 cycle, or if its before egg collection would this not be classed. Just thinking in terms of funding x

Hi Lauren, so sorry to hear this. Its probably best to check with your clinic xx
Thank you, nothing has happened yet but just need to know
I have a group session next week where we see a dr would they know? xx
Hi
I am really not sure but it sounds like it might not count towards a cycle if there is no egg collection. Perhaps they can adjust your meds during stims to get more follies xx Did they explain exactly why the cycle was stopped?xxx
Oh sorry do you mean you have had your consultation and not actually started your round of IVF at all due to the scan of follies?xx
Ahh I think you mean you are worried about what might happen if you during stimms you had 4 follies and would your cycle be cancelled yes?xx
Bless, its too early for my brain!! Well I am afraid I am not 100% sure, however I have seen lots of ladies on here going ahead with 4 follies, so I would hope it would continue providing they can get them to grow during stims xx
I live abroad so the rules here are not the NHS, but here they count a cycle as one where egg/s were collected and at least one embryo was good enough to be placed back. My first cycle I had 9 eggs collected but none turned to a viable embryo to transfer so that cycle didn't count.
What I also learned from this is that you're better off with quality eggs than quantity, so don't despair! All the best
I had a cancelled cycle before egg collection and it didn't count as one of our cycles with Access. However it wasn't a NHS cycle.
Hope that's helps. Xx
I had canceled nhs cycle before egg collection, I only had 3 follicles and my clinic like 3 or more , they said it was up to us we canceled and it didn't count as one of my nhs rounds. Things seem to be different in different areas though.
I know it's easier said than done but try not to panic about it too much.
Good luck xx
thanks for your reply i shall ask this question next x
I had first cycle cancelled due to low number of small folicles and it didn't use our free go. They tweaked my drugs before the next round which helped a lot xx
