I'm on my second fresh ivf ( I had a failed frozen in between) my Accupuncture lady had suggested I have a scratch but the Ivf nurse said I'd have needed it on my previous cycle. ( my period is due in 2 weeks then I start on day2 , short protocol) what should I do??? Are they beneficial?? Do I need one privately?? Can it cause harm??? I so confused 😬😬😬😬

I've had the scratch for both my frozen cycles and at my clinic I've had to had pay each time. Its meant to help with the embryo 'sticking' but unfortunately hasn't been successful for me. I have seen a few previous posts where there has been success though and I wouldn't rule having it again for future cycles. If your nurse agrees it, it's entirely your choice x
I did not have one first two cycles on NHS now private and they recommend it so I am going for it. Only extra it seems where there is some slight evidence that it can make a positive difference so for sake of £200 it's a no brained for us.you need to have it around day 21 of cycle before treatment xx
This is my problem though I'm already on day 25 of a 35 day cycle and I'm starting short protocol when I get my period so I won't have time!! I worried that it won't work without one but if we delay our treatment we lose our funding x
I had a scratch done for my treatment as Id read promising things about it but paid for this privately. Im on long protocol so I had it on day 21 which is the day I started down regulation medication. Im not sure how short protocol works and how a scratch would fit in with this. Could you perhaps ask another nurse from the clinic or a Dr?xx
You have them the cycle before treatment starts. I didn't have one with my first round and it was a bfn. I had one with my fet (second round) and it was a bfp. I've just opted to have another one before my next fet. I don't know for sure it makes any real difference but I have heard that scientifically it's the only proven add on that's made any difference in implantation so I'll always opt for it. Good luck with your cycle either way xx
