I am still in the process of trying for a baby. My husband had a vasectomy many years ago which meant I always knew it would have to be ivf but I started march last year... had my treatment cancelled... didn't respond to the stimulation so I was gutted, then I had a polyp removed from my womb on September. Tried again in March and went abroad for the treatment responded really well with 17 eggs all fertilized and 7 grade A embryos. Which doesn't sound a lot from 17 but the key is quality. Didn't work with one embryo but have lots frozen so having a frozen transfer in May. So that was a really quick synopsis of my situation but I wanted to point out that it's a journey. Some longer than others but I know it will be worth it. I try and see each hurdle individually. If you think about the bigger picture then it gets overwhelming. I would just say research loads.. yes there is conflicting information but I think it really helps to be in control. Ask loads of questions and if you feel like you are not getting answers or you are in a queue be demanding! You will see loads of positive stories here as well as a few tears both help in different ways. I wish you lots of luck, because so far I have learnt that no matter how perfect or imperfect things are it seems to be a big dollop of luck that gets you to your end goal. Xx

Hi PB265. Well, nobody wants to hear this news, but I think we have try and be positive that this kind of treatment is available for certain types of fertility problems. I have been dealing with fertility problems for over 20 years now, and I can remember when ICSI came about. How thrilled we were that at last there was this available, and pioneered in England! I have had many successful cycles, and had my first photo of one of "MY" teenagers (result of ICSI)arrived last Christmas who will be off to University this year after taking a year out. I'm sure the ladies here will give you their success stories, as my photo album certainly does!! HUGE luck with it all, and you will be looked after, I'm sure. Diane
