Hey Hun sorry to be reading this. Iv read that some ladies try Dhea for 3 months. But it's best to speak to your consultant x

Yeah i keep reading about that and I rung the centre early to ask and they said there's no proof with anything, some things can cause more harm than good, everyone's stories are different bla bla. And it's not something they prescribe or advise there. They said if there was something that improved egg quality then everyone would be prescribing it. But I keep seeing stories saying this DHEA so I just dont know what to it's so hard. I want to try everything but at the same time don't want to take something that can be a risk . Ahhhhh πŸ˜•

I feel your pain hun. I think we had our failures at around the same time. Iv been told by my clinic to try menopur injections next time instead of Bemfola. I wanted to try another clinic but they charge 200 pounds just for a consultation!! We are self funding our next cycle so lots to think about x

β€’ in reply toNDE1987

Yeah we are self funding too I always had in my head we would try one more time so we still will I want to see if there is any difference to last time with the lifestyle changes I've made even though they say I can't change things but I know it's not going to work I guess I just want to draw a line under it once and for all and this last go will be that, it's hard isn't it x

It's very hard Hun, because we were saving for a house were dipping into our funds. I feel like if it dosent work I will feel what a waste of money! It's not fair some ladies get to have 3 goes and IV only been given 1 go on the NHS. But I guess I just have to feel grateful I even got one go!! What will be will be xx

You do wonder that if there was something., they'd tell us to use it.

I've just decided no alcohol, positive thinking and excercise - focus on me. Hopefully that'll work xxx

β€’ in reply toallieb21

Yeah me too plus making sure I drink more water, eat healthy and taking vitamins and I'm starting acupuncture again just trying everything for one last punch.

No alcohol is really hard .I had a failed cycle early January.trying again soon.had a couple of drinks last month .I'm now trying to avoid wine .eat well and take it easy .

I got told the same....my eggs are rubbish!! I took DHEA and had a better cycle last time than the time before....I'm not saying it's definitely because of that but I had to try. I plan on taking COQ10 for my next cycle. I just keep thinking my granny had a late baby and lots of others do too so there is some hope out there!!xz

β€’ in reply toCinderella5

I'm taking COQ10 this time did someone recommend the DHEA? Or did you just decide to try it?

I did my own research....(bit of a googler 😢) but did ask the embryologist & my consultant. They both said there was no harm in trying but the studies that had been done were very small.....although there were some promising studies! If I'm honest I had already decided that I was giving it a try. A friend of mine was recommended it from my clinic although she is younger!xx

β€’ in reply toCinderella5

Thanks I will do it's so scary knowing what to do for the best and seeing all the different opinions from different places. My egg quality is rubbish and extremely unlikely ivf will work again so just trying to do my own research and find out what I can do as they basically said there's nothing I can do or take to improve egg quality no matter what I read online. But yet others say it's worked agggh this journey is a nightmare good luck with your cycle xx

I was basically told the same as you, its your age....think we are about the same age although you get way more eggs than me (just read your last posts). The only thing that stuck in my head was that they said there is no way of testing egg quality so its just an educated guess. I reckon anything is worth a shot and at least you know you've tried everything that you can. That's what keeps me sane anyway! Im doing DHEA and COQ10 this time but not due to start again for a few months. I took 3x75mg of DHEA last time and got it online with BIOVEA. I guess you just have to do what you think is right my lovely! Good luck with what you decide!xx

Thanks Hun good luck to you too x

It sure is frustrating . I would say age is a factor, however by improving our diet, trying to reduce our stress we can create a happy environment for the embryo and give it the best chance..

I'm currently working in a stressful corporate job but also learning maternity reflexology and as it reduces stress, it has been noticed to have an impact and there are more and more studies being done for this now

So, if we can reduce our stress by any means , meditation , exercise, chanting , whatever suits , and also reduce toxins in our immediate environment , it will help a bit. In the situation that most of us are in, every little helps ❀❀❀❀

You know, you always can do some stuff that is said to improve the egg quality, you just have to choose what will not do any harm to you and what will be even great for your health. you can do that but i would trust only the words of your consulting doctor! because he knows better and maybe before doing anything you may ask whether it is ok but ask only your gp!

Hi Nyko. My consultant said the same thing to me. It's so frustrating not knowing what to do. I've decided not to go against his judgement this time but if we need a third cycle then I will try DHEA because my feeling is we'll have nothing to lose. Good luck x x x

When my blast quality was really disappointing my clinic suggested that they can tweak protocols. On another forum I'm on we're having lots of discussion about over stimulation and its effect on egg quality. Some evidence that less stimms (esp for low amh) and short protocol might be better for egg quality. But my clinic does neither of those so would have to move. I have my review next week so will see how my consultant responds. Another point is melatonin poss has some effect. If you want, read 'it starts with the egg' but I warn you it is a bit full on (I almost threw it out as it made me a but obsessive eg about bpa)
