Has anyone had or going to have PGD rather than IVF?

I'd like to find someone who has had or is going to have PGD? We're going for our consultation in a couple of weeks and hoping to start soon - would like to find out more information from our point of view, rather than a medical factual point of view.

hi, sorry what do you mean PGD rather than IVF? How can they do PGD with no IVF?

or am I getting it wrong?

I meant has anyone had PDG rather than just the conventional IVF...

Hi, I guess it depends on both your medical histories and your motivations for PGD. My husband and I have no genetic diseases running in our families, so we have no objective reason for concern and in our case our consultant didn't recommend it. he said it was very expensive, that you needed to have a lot of embryos in the first place (which was not our case) and that there was always a chance that they could either hurt the embryo or that it could be a false diagnosis (i.e. they say it's not a good embryo but it actually is good). But your case may be very different, I can only share our experience. good luck with your decision making! x
