Hi all, I hope everyone is well and feeling positive for 2017
I was just hoping for a little advice. I'm in a dilemma about getting accupuncture before our first IVF cycle in a few weeks. I know it's a bit late but I have been toying with the idea and just can't seem to book it. The problem is I was having acupuncture for about 4 months prior to getting pregnant in April last year - looking back it was suprising as my husband has a low sperm count. I sadly miscarried at 8+2 and as you do I wonder what caused it contributed to it. I never really go into the acupuncture- sometime it made me too sedate as in mentally numb, my lady was lovely and used less needles as she said I was very sensitive to it. I carried on for 3 months after miscarriage but had to stop as it was expensive and I just didn't connect.
I just wanted to know what you guys think as I know I wil need help relaxing but I'm in too minds.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and taking time to read this long post
Love to all xx

Hi there, I'm due to start my first round of ivf this month and I've been having weekly acupuncture since September. We're in the same boat as you as my hubbie has a low sperm count. I ummed and aahed for ages about having it as it's such a big expense! Anyway, I decided to have a go and found a guy that specialises in acupuncture for fertility treatment. Personally I've found it really really good. He focuses on making your cycle the best it can be (I thought my periods were fine until he made them even better in terms of flow/regularity/pmt) as well as treating any other lifestyle issues caused by ivf (in my case stress/anxiety/insomnia) Once the ivf starts he can change the treatment to help with the drug side effects (which is something I worry about a lot)...so all in all its really benefited me. As to whether it'll help get the longed for bfp who knows! But I'm willing to give it a try 😀
