Hi there

Hi
I have just started acupuncture as I have heard its good to help with fertility, I am still waiting to start my treatment but I know a few women who have had it & are convinced that this helped- fingers crossed 🙏

Thank you....when in your cycle did you start acupuncture? Who do you go to? How often do you have it? Good luck
Im waiting to find out when our ivf will begin hopefully November/December but I started my acupuncture on my last period and I go weekly- the acupuncturist will tell you how often you need to go and they can advise what's best. I have different things each time sometimes have the needles in my stomach and legs, then the next time back and feet. They go on how you are feeling as to where to do it xx
Who did you go to?
Hey yes weekly on my second cycle but for me it made no difference at all. Spent an extra fortune for no results💔
So sorry to hear that ...don't give up...We have had 3 failed transfers and I still hope and pray it works out and I can have my miracle baby
Didn't do it weekly but had a good few sessions during my last fet and did get a bfp unfortunately it didn't last but that was my forth round, first time doing acupuncture and first bfp xx
So sorry to hear that ....who did u go to for the accupuncture? When did you start doing it in your cycle and how often? Thank you
Did you do the acupuncture after transfer as well?
Sorry took so long to reply I found someone near me (googled then called and questioned). I left it quite late cz I didn't know the ins and outs of it so met her as I had started then on day of transfer (was fet) I didn't go after results but thinking maybe I should of. This time round (fresh) I met her about month before I was starting , then as I started Down reg, was meant to see her halfway thru stims but couldn't fit in an appointment (around work etc) and am seeing her after transfer. Our reason for IVF is male factor so she wasn't as worried for me she also said she has noticed it really helps with woman and hormones and it's not like a pill wearing off after a few hours but does keep in ur system a while (what ever she does with. Blood flow etc lol) I have also noticed although I don't enjoy the appointments as such (I'm quite awkward and can't do small talk) overall the last round and this round I have felt a lot calmer and at ease with everything and nothing has changed except Acupunture xx
That is good to know ....are u now going weekly? Who are u going to? I am trying to find someone good in London
I had some acupuncture during rounds 2 & 3 and reflexology prior to and during rounds 2 & 3. Unfortunately it didn't result in BFPs. It isn't cheap (we were self funding everything) I liked the acupuncture so if you can afford it and it helps you to relax it's probably worth trying. I wasn't so keen on the reflexology practitioner but I liked the treatment. The nurse at our clinic was positive about complementary treatments.
Good luck!
Thank you....I am terrified of needles but at this point i am ready to try anything that may help
I'm rubbish with needles but you can't feel them go in as they are so fine, the only thing I felt was a flick. I told the lady I was scared of needles and said I'd give it a go, she said that we could stop at any time. It was a bit weird having needles stuck in where you could see them (on your front) but I just closed my eyes for that bit.
Good luck.
Hi coconut779
I was having accupunture was really good to relax me unfortunately my cycle was terminated due to my follicles not growing as I was in the wrong dose of gonal f.
But two of my friends also used the same person for accupunture and they got there bfp first go!!
I've had 7 friends go through ivf and all but one now have there babies, if it hasn't happened on the first go it's happened in the second.
There is so many things they say to do and don't but what I've learnt is really ivf is all down to luck. It's such a hard process, but trying to remain relaxed and positive (easier said then done)
Due to start again In Jan. Got everything crossed for you lovely.
Xxxx
Thank you. ...its an emotional physical mental and financial roller coaster We have had 3 failed transfers so even though I am terrified of needles I am willing to try anything that may help....who did you and your friends go to for acupuncture? Good luck with your next cycle. ...will say a prayer for you
I had acupuncture for about 18 months combined with chinese herbs also. Unfortunately it did not work for me but age is against me to. I do hear lots of stories from people who really think it helped them x
who did u go to? How often did u go? Thank you
For the first 6 months I went every 2 weeks, then we increased it to once a week. I went to a chinese doctor in sutton, surrey. It didnt work for me and over that length of time added up to quite a lot of money, however, my friend went to her years ago and swears she would not have her boys without this doctor so I think with me my age played a big part x
Sorry to hear that ...How old are you if u dont mind me asking?
I'll be 45 in January so pretty much at the end of this journey x
dont give up hope...i havent despite 3 failed transfers
Thanks Hun x
Did you have acupuncture after transfer?
Sadly I didn't even get as far as transfer-there were no eggs at collection which was devastating x
Really sorry about that ....are the herbs bearable? Do they smell and taste bad? A friend of mine recommended a herb to me once and I bought it but couldn't get past the first sip...It was awful
they do taste & smell pretty bad but i tried to boil them using less water so id actually drink a smaller but stronger solution so i could down it in one.most chinese docs do have tablet for to but they are just not as strong. it didn't help with my eggs but they definitely do help your health - i had loads of skin conditions b4 taking them that all cleared up - they have all started to creep back now I havent been taking them for about 6 months x
I had a quick chat with an acupuncturist today and he was more kern on the herbs than the acupuncture. ...I don't think I am going to go that route....its all very expensive and if I know I can't drink it its pointless buying it and then not taking it
Me and the wife have been doing this for almost a year now.... it seems to have positive effects, abdx out one came highly reccomended, we intaillyvstarted attending once week but after 6 months, we went every two weeks. My wife starts her treatment meds this week, with possible IVF procedure in November. So far all results have been positive, so fingers crossed.
Best of luck with whatever you decide.
Thank you....good luck with your cycle. . Who do u go to for accupuncture?
I'm doing it. Have been since end of summer. Once a fortnight and when I start treatment (next week hopefully) once a week.
The guy I go to is a fertility acuptunture expert and is connected to a clinic but not the one I'm with. A private one (I'm with nhs partial funded clinic.
