I still feel bloated, uncomfortable and I've passed some dark blood. Apparently that's normal but I didn't feel like this with my last round of icsi?
Managed to retrieve 15 eggs today fro... - Fertility Network UK
Managed to retrieve 15 eggs today from ec. I've been really tender ever since
I've had mine today too. I got 17! I feel lousy to be honest. I too am bloated and feel sick now as the days going on,I felt ok earlier. It just be that your body is reacting different to treatment this time. GL sum1sweeta
Wow that's great news I bet your thrilled. Gosh how are you feeling today? My bloating has gone down a little and I'm not as tender ( I'm off to work at 4pm) have you had a call yet with the number of eggs fertilised? Out of 15 eggs, 13 were viable and 7 fertilised, I'm so happy (last time I had 1 that fertilised). I'm having et on Sunday - they said I may go in on Friday if things change. My fingers are crossed for you x
Aw thats great news, gl to you hun, thsts a good number. 😁😁 Yes,I've had my call. 12 fertilised out of 17 which I'm overjoyed about! I will either go in Friday or Sunday for my transfer. So excited. Yes,I feel better today, feel a bit more normal than yesterday. Let me know how you get on, wishing you all the luck Xxx
That's great news, you have a better chance to have some frosties. I can't help think if we had a sperm donar that we would have had more fertilise. Anyway I wish you all the luck and will definitely let you know how it's goes x
sum1sweeta I was sore and bloated for 3-4 days after my EC last week and suffered terrible with constipation. It will pass though and every cycle will be different from reading what all the other lovely ladies have been writing xx 17 eggs is amazing though!!!
15 eggs is fab!! Well done.
My first EC was a breeze and got 9 eggs... a bit tender but it went after a few days.... the second EC...there were 30+ eggs and the consultant collected 19 but it was horrendous. I felt everything he did and it took over a month for my ovaries to go back down. I had OHSS and was curled up in pain for a few days. So it really can differ from EC to EC.
The pain is expected and it does get better though. Drink as much water as possible and strangely drinking lucozade or electrolyte drinks (don't over do them though!) really helped... thanks to a tip on here. Remember what it is all for and take lots of rest. Hopefully you'll have some eggs left to freeze too! Good luck lovely Xx
It's annoying that you feel so different after each round!!
Definitely take time to recover and drink lots of water.
Obviously keep an eye on any possible ohss symptoms x
Congratulations on that many eggs.
I felt tender for a couple of days and coudn't bend over, or pee without it hurting. I also couldn't get back in my jeans for a week afterwards. It all just sounds completely normal to me.
Just rest, drink and take regular paracetamol. x
Hi ladies just reading your replies.
Congrats on that amount of eggs. Really hope it works out.
Hoping to get funding for icsi. Just to ask are/were you off work for few days after egg retrieval?
I'm a teacher and just wondering how much time if any I may need if we get go ahead. The after bit doesn't sound much fun 😬 Thank you! X
Hi; fingers crossed you get the funding, have you checked how many rounds your primary care trust is providing?
Regarding taking time off after egg collection I haven't, I'm back in work at 4pm today. I think it's necessary to take a few days off after embryo transfer tho.
You will need time for appointments but if you manage to get them to fit around your job that would help you. Good luck x
Hi there - I hope you're feeling much better today. My experience after EC was very similar. Just take care of yourself, drink plenty of water and try to rest x x x
Hi, try not to worry the injections aren't as bad as they seem and only tiny needles ( I have a needle phobia and I managed fine). Don't feel embarrassed it's natural to be wary it's all new to you but everybody's experience is different. On my first round I didn't have any pain or discomfort after egg retrieval or transfer, this time was different. After the anesthesia worn off I felt uncomfortable but I recently found out I have a bend in my womb, taking paracetamol, drinking lots of water and resting after was helpful. When you receive the meds it does look like a lot but you always are given more needles than you need. It's great you found a surrogate I wish you all the luck. When do you start stimming and how long for? X
