Anyone using prolutex subcutaneous progesterone injections? Just wondering how often they're being offered and how you find them in terms of comfort, side effects etc. Tia xx

Hi Madcatlady55. Progeserone whether given vaginally in pessary/gel form or by SC (subcutaneous) injection is usually down to clinic preference, and any side effects - if experience are usually the same. Some women prefer not to have to put up with the leakage from pessary/gel use, and prefer the injections. Hope all goes well with your cycle. Diane
Not me Diane, a friend has been offered this and I just wondered if there were any differences. I have heard that Cyclogest is less messy when used as a suppository. Thanks for the reply.
Hi Madcatlady55. Yes, most women do use Cyclogest. The amount of progesterone "top up" your body needs is absorbed in the first 20-30 mins from insertion. Any "waxy" stuff that leaks out is just what the drug is put into and is not to be worried about. I think the ladies I have dealt with prefer the pessary method as it means no more injections! Hope your friend's cycle works out well for her. Diane
