I'm about to embark on the epic journey that is ivf! I'm Having my pelvic scan and bloods today. I have endometriosis and know I have a left side cyst so today's scan will tell me if I can go ahead with egg collection (I think). I really hope all is well I don't think I can take anymore set backs!!! Any advice or experience with this would be kindly received xx

Welcome amie1. I know when I first started with the process my consultant wanted me to have a laparoscopy as I had endometriosis and cyst on my ovaries just to make sure it was all cleared up

Then I ha further blood test and scans before I started injections to stop ovulation and to thicken the uterine wall. I then started stimulating more follicles to create more eggs and then the eggs were collected and then once the eggs is fertilised, they transfer it back to you.

Have you started talking any drugs yet?

HI, I saw my gynecologist and said he would remove until fertility had see me. Which was a year ago and it was 4 cm! I haven't seen the fertility consultant yet they wanted the scan first. See him 19th after semen analysis also. Phew so nerve racking!! Thanks for your reply! X

So had My scan and womb looks good, I have a second 2.5cm cyst. But the nurse didn't seem to think it would be a problem going forward with treatment. My ovarys both seem to be producing foliculs so positive news for once thank god xx

Hi amie

I just wanted to say good luck with it all and I hope everything went well at your appointment. I am also undergoing IVF because of endometriosis (starting cycle 2 this week) In the past I've had a large endometrioma which was removed during a laparoscopy then during a scan in the early days of my first cycle another cyst was seen, however it had gone by the next scan. Do you know the size of your cyst and if it could disappear on its own?

Just to give you some hope..my body produced some really good quality embryos, one of which is currently 'on ice' and we are about to use in a frozen cycle. No one was more surprised by this than me because after many years of feeling let down by my body and thinking the endo had ruined everything, it was amazing to know it could get that far. Unfortunately the first cycle didn't work for us but we have hope for this next one.

Wishing you so much luck, don't hesitate to ask anything on here, it can be such a confusing & daunting process but they'll always be people on here who understand exactly how you're feeling xx

Thank you. Its really dawning on me what we're actually about to do. A little nervous to say the least. They found another cyst yesterday so I now have two. One 4cm and one 2.5cm. The nurse didn't seem to think it would be a problem tho. So fingers crossed will all go a head. We see the consultant on the 19th July. It can't come quick enough now, I just want to get going xx
