2ww arghhhh resisting testing!!

I have done so well to keep occupied and resistance testing. I had my transfer a week ago and haven't even been tempted to test until now but I know it's not good to test early. From past experiences, everything I have tested early my period following the same day. My OTD is Wednesday but I am getting more and more anxious now. Everyone I go to the toilet I look down in fear wondering if AF will show itself!!

I have seen soo many people test early and i think to myself ahh what harm can it do lol but then I remember what happens every time I test early. I'm going out shortly so maybe I'll get distracted lol x

I feel exactly the same my test date is Thur, I am going to test early tho as last time I also came on early. Obviously I will test on OTD but would rather just prepare myself X

I totally get the logic in that, I was saying to my OH I'd rather have an idea tomorrow on a weekend so I can come to terms with it rather than test on Wednesday and it be a total shock. But then I can't help but think if I test early will my AF then come as that is what has always happened. I feel like I am tempting fate if I test early. It's so hard, I'm going into town later and all I can think about is buying a HPT. Loool

I already feel like AF is lurking and not convinced that she won't appear before Thur, going to test from tomorrow morning onwards 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Your mind is so powerful and can play the most wonderful tricks though so try not to read too much into symptoms. Just rely on the test! Can the hcg injection still be detected?

I think that's out 12 days after trigger shot. I know they give you an OTD for a reason and will keep testing but I guess it comes down to personal choice on how you feel about it. Your doing so well holding out X

I'm still debating, I'll let you know if I cave in lol. What I do know is that if I don't test tomorrow I am most likely to wait it out. I just like the idea of doing it on a weekend so you have the time and space to deal with whatever outcome. What test would you recommend? Would you do the early detection ones? X

in reply to Tara2016

Ha ha this made me laugh 😀 Yes early detection ones either first response or clear blue X

I tested early as I wanted to put my mind at ease ( I was having all the symptoms of AF so wanted to be prepared). So when I got a BFP I couldn't believe it. It didn't ease my mind, it turned me into a serial tester! I was peeing on a stick continuously and checking my knickers on every toilet visit convinced that it wasn't real! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I tested early as the thought of getting a BFN in a hospital surrounded by strangers would have knocked me for six but just be prepared for going out of your mind either way! X

Thanks Murph. How early did you test? I don't have any symptoms so not sure what to think really? My test day is Wednesday but I'm due to go to work as I wasn't able to book the day off so was thinking I could test early to help prepare emotionally I guess for Wednesday. But my fear is it being positive then turning negative or alternatively it being negative and AF arriving immediately after which would make my annoyed because I could have just waited for AF. But then again, what's worse, seeing AF or getting a negative test?? I think I am already going out of my mind haha x

Hi Tara

I totally get where you are coming from !!

We are due blood test next Thursday and I've ordered first response tests so that I can test before we go to the hospital in the morning.

But then I go online and read that HCG should be detectable from day 9 (I'm so sad, I've printed the timeline off and stuck it up on my wall in the office and every day I tick that day off!! ) - today is day 5 for me, implantation should be complete!! (See how sad I am)

So now I'm thinking I could test on Wednesday one day early just to prepare myself, then I think no, test on Thursday before we set off to the hospital, then I think what harm could it do if I tested just 2 days earlier, and on and on it goes, my head is a wreck and I so cannot concentrate on work lol !!

We are having a day at the beach tomorrow and then it's next week ... I only have 5 more sleeps to go... You only have 4 😄😄

Hold out if you can and chill out this weekend if you can, totally impossible I know but we can do this...

Good luck

Holly x

What a dilemma lol

Where did you get all that info from about dates and calendars? Currently I'm feeling okay to hold out but don't wanna get to Monday and regret not testing Sunday. I don't have to go hospital for testing, they just gave me one to test at home x

Hi Tara

As a certified google addict.... !!!! - this is the info I have found re the timeline :)

This is what happens on a 3 day transfer......

1 day post transfer - embryo is growing and developing

2 days post transfer - Embryo is now a blastocyst

3 days post transfer - Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day

4 days post transfer - Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining

5 days post transfer - Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining

6 days post transfer - Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining

7 days post transfer - Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells

8 days post transfer - Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood

9 days post transfer - More HCG is produced as fetus develops

10 days post transfer - More HCG is produced as fetus develops

11 days post transfer - HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

This is what happens in a 5 day (blastocyst) transfer:

1 day post transfer - Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day

2 days post transfer - Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining

3 days post transfer - Implantation begins, as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining

4 days post transfer - Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining

5 days post transfer - Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells

6 days post transfer - Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood

7 days post transfer - More HCG is produced as fetus develops

8 days post transfer - More HCG is produced as fetus develops

9 days post transfer - HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

Hope that helps

Hahaha that is good. So going by this technically I could test tomorrow. I might just go ahead and do it x

If it's a 3 day transfer and your 11 days post then yes, if it's a 5 day and your 9 days post them yes!!

I'm still not sure as I'll be 9 days post by Wednesday but I think I'll be too scared to do it....

Good luck if you do decide to test 😄
