Hi ladies

Does anyone have any recommendations for decent books on the IVF or ICSI process/ pcos diets / diets to help egg and sperm production etc, advice for my hubby, staying positive or anything else that might help?

I'm starting my down regs soon on antagonist protocol.

Thanks xx

On improving egg quality, I highly recommend Rebecca Fett's book It Starts With the Egg. She reviews all the recent science on what helps improve egg quality in terms of supplements and nutrition. It helped me to decide which things were worth taking and which not. Wishing you the best of luck!

Hi there

My husband and I read Get A Life, a survival guide to IVF. It's written from the male and female perspective by a couple who did IVF 3 times. I found it really helpful as it explains all the stages and what to expect. Unfortunately our first round failed - we're having FET next month and I'll probably refer back to this book again. My husband said he found it helpful as the doctors don't really explain much to the men re their part in it. Wishing you all the luck in the world for your cycle xx

I loved this book. It gave me a real insight into the male perspective, especially when the mc happened x

Hey,

I found the Zita West book excellent for explaining the process and how to help yourself. I also loved the 'Complete Guide to IVF' by Kate Brian.

For a completely different read I loved 'Get a Life... A his and hers survival guide to IVF' by Richard Mackney and Rosie Bray. This had me laughing and crying at times as it's written by a couple who went through ivf. It also helped me to understand how my hubby felt at points through the process.

Hope that helps xx

I asked my consultant if there was anything I could do myself to make the process more likely to work, and he just said a healthy lifestyle. I do believe that an over-regimented diet and banning things you love can be counter productive if it makes you stressed - equally if it makes you feel you are doing everything you can, that's fine.

He told my hubby about some supplements but I couldn't hear because I was behind the curtain for my scan! But for me, it was just folic acid and healthy lifestyle.

I can recommend 'Get a Life... his and hers Survival Guide' too!

The best recommendation I got through here was "what he can expect when she s not expecting" which is for husbands initially but mine never touched it.
