Is there anyone out there who had less than 10 eggs collected on egg collection? I had my egg collection this morning and only 6 was retrieved. I got emotional and cried as I was expecting more specially that I have more follicles this time than last time. And in so much pain than last time as well. π

Quality over quantity?
I had 7 collected, 6 fertilized, 2 made it to Blastocyst and were implanted. I'm now 31 weeks pregnant with twins. Remember it only takes one. Xxx
I had 5 eggs from about 9 follicles. 4/5 eggs fertilised, 2 made it to blastocyst.
Don't worry - only my left ovary responded and I had 4 eggs collected. 3 were mature and fertilised and they took all to blastocyst stage. Only 2 looked good by then so they transferred both and I'm 9.5 weeks with twins! So I was initially upset that my right ovary was so lazy and I had nothing to freeze but it is definitely quality over quantity. Hope you get some nice embryos!
Thank you. I hope so too. I can't help but get disappointed as we have 16 follicles. This might sound negative but I know that quality over quantity doesn't work for everybody ππ»
Some of it has to do with age as well, I'm 36 so they were hopeful the quality would be good even though my amh is only 3. I only had 5 follicles in my initial consultation - 3+2, so to go from that to only 4 on my left felt like a huge blow at the time. You expect the meds to increase your numbers! Just take it easy now for the next few days and keep your feet up. You need your body to be ready for transfer day.
My clinic were only looking for between 5-10 eggs on average which surprised me as you hear about all these women having huge numbers of eggs retrieved! They collected 8 from me, 5 of which were mature enough to use - 4 of those fertilised. I was really upset to go from 8 eggs on the day down to just 4 embryos, but amazingly they all made it to day 5, they transferred 1 and I'm now 7 weeks pregnant I know how hard that wait is and all you want is a huge number to work with but it really is quality over quantity. I would say 6 is a good number to work with, have faith xxx
I had 8 collected, initially was disappointed but wasn't sure how good that was really, 6 fertilised, 3 made it to embryos so had 1 transferred and 2 frozen. Like the others have said it only takes one so don't worry xx
I had 6 collected on my last go, have 1 ovary. I got 9 mature on my first go so was disappointed on this go. 4 fertilised, 2 good enough to be transferred on day 3, unfortunately none to freeze. But am currently 20 weeks pregnant, due a baby girl end of April! So is not always about the numbers. Take care of yourself, keep positive and good luck xx
Aww thanks very much. My first try we've got 9 eggs as well and this is our second which is more follicles than the first try and we only got 6. I will try my best to stay possitive, I know that whatever the outcome is.. It is what it is regardless if I'm being negative or possitive the result will be the same xx
Hi. I had 7 collected, 4 fertilised and only 1 made it to blastocyst. Nearly 8 weeks pregnant with that solitary blasto π¬ Definitely quality over quantity x
ππ»ππ»ππ» I hope I can say this as well at the end of the week. Well done to you xxx
It's so hard not to feel disheartened. When I went in for transfer, I could hear the embryologist tell the lady in the next bed that 12 out of her 15 eggs had fertilised and 8 made blastocyst. So when I found out only 1 had made it I burst into tears! But all it takes is that one so stay strong and positive! X
I had 6 collected too and was very disappointed as I thought the treatment would give me more. However, 4 eggs fertilised and three made it to blastocyst stage. I had the best one for ET and I'm now 20 weeks pregnant.
Stay positive xx Good luck
My last collection resulted in only 4 being collected despite having over 20 follicles. Only 2 of those fertilised but were excellent quality and had a good number of cells by day 3. It does feel disappointing to go through all that for so few eggs but we only need one to stick.
Good luck and hope it all goes well for you

Try to stay calm & positive; I had three eggs collected but only one fully fertilised and one partially, but I had them both put back....yesterday I tested positive! βΊ
We truly never thought we'd see this day given the stats of 30% success rate, but on our third attempt it's happened.
Good luck π xx
Don't worry, dear! You should be strong. There are many stories of success, yours shall be among them soon
