I had my egg collection on Monday where they collected 12 eggs, 8 of which were mature and all 8 fertilised and after 4 days all 8 are still going. but all 8 are grade 2, I've been told this is ok?.
I'm just wondering how many to expect will be left at my transfer on Sat? I'm really hoping to get some frosties.
Different hospitals use different grading systems so it doesn't make it easy to compare I'm afraid, though some are more common than others. My hospital used a system which was a combination of numbers and letters. The numbering system went 1-5 and the letters A-C (and there were 2 letters). So my little embryo I had transferred was 5AA (the best) but I had others frozen and I can't remember exactly but I'm sure one of those was a 2BB. If I'm right that means that grade must still be a reasonable quality otherwise they wouldn't have frozen it. Assuming yours uses a similar numbering system I would therefore say that you still have hope for success with grade 2s. Good luck! X
Hey Suki84, sounds like you're in a strong position. My hospital showed me a grading of 4 options, 1 being the best and 2 good quality and 3+4 not so good. So anything graded 1or 2 would be a good result. If you have 8 grade so then you will use 1 or 2 embryos for ET and can hopefully freeze the rest. Good luck 🍀 xx
