Just a quick question has anyone had there 4 week scan?? Wanted to know how many they were able to see most important can they tell if there's a heart beat? X

Hey lucy how r u doing, the scan that u will have next you will be 6+ weeks depending on how soon after the transfer u get ur scan, ive seen a few mention they have had scans and saw baby with a good heart beat, i told you before about a lady from my work knowing someone who had 2 embryos transfered like you have...she had a scan on tuesday an was able to see twins!! 1 with a good heart beat the other a little weak but shes gota go back next week to see if 1 has improved, im sure ur little 1/s will be just fine... Not long until thursday now hun x

Aww thanks Hun. So then that will be that they add two weeks on because next Tuesday I am 4 weeks on the dot if that makes sense. Just trying to get my head round it. I really wanna know if they are ok and how many. That's gd they gave that other lady a scan the week after.

Hi Lucy,

If you count the weeks from the start of your last

Period, that will be how many weeks pregnant you are

I had my scan around 7 and a half weeks and I could see the heart and everything.I Think from around 6+ you may see the heartbeat.

Hi Lucy, you are about 2 weeks behind my boss and she had her scan a week ago yesterday at 6.5 weeks. I think it should really have been yesterday, but she was having some bleeding, so they did it earlier.

I think this wait is probably worse than the 2ww, because you know you are pregnant and are just jittery about it being ok. Does Hammersmith do any bloods for your hcg levels during this time?

Aww ok. I have not been told about any blood test only my scan but they might do one on the day. The waiting is really hard

My hospital won't scan until 7 weeks because they say it's the first time you can guarantee a heartbeat if viable. I believe the heartbeat starts showing from 6 weeks but it could be a few days after so my hospital won't risk giving false bad news.

Aww I am hoping I can see a heartbeat. They have not told me anything like that they only told me to come in for a scan. X

At EC they consider you are already 2 weeks pregnant. So when you get that BFP you are already considered 4 weeks pregnant.

I had my first scan 3 weeks after my BFP (so I was 7 weeks). I could see what looked like a kidney bean with the tinest flicker which was its little heart beating like crazy. It's a moment of pure relief!
