Clomid situation!!

Unfortunately my first cycle of clomid hasn't worked worked but I have a slight situation........my doctor for whatever reason has not seen my blood results and won't be back in clinic till Tuesday next week. My fertility nurse said that if this cycle didn't work we would double the dose at the next one but that it would be upto doctor. But mean while (yesterday ) I've started my period. I couldn't speak to the nurse as she is away till Monday. The secretary said to keep taking the dose I was started on. But should I take it or leave it till next month when I know what's going on. I don't want to waste a cycle as only have 5. I need to think with my head not my heart......any thoughts??

hi catB81. I'll be quite honest, i would carry with your original dose, as you need to take it on the 2nd or 3rd day of your menstrual cycle. If you leave it a month, then your body will have to start all over again. The drug is meant for continual use for up to 6 cycles. We always used to start patients off on the lowest dose for 3 months then double it for 3 months - unless of course they became pregnant. Hope this helps - and HUGE luck! Diane
