Short cycle

Hi everyone!! Started injections on Tuesday and having bloods on sun....does anyone know how long the shirt cycle of injections lasts for? Thanks! Xx

Hi Katie84,

My next cycle will be a short cycle. If I understand it correctly the injections last for approx 2 weeks, same as on a long protocol. The main difference being you don't have to take the drugs to switch off the pituitary gland before the injections start.

Hi, I had a short cycle a couple of months ago... Unfortunately it doesn't tend to me much shorter I'm afraid! My fertility nurse hates that it's called a short cycle because it can be misleading.

I was injecting for 21 days in total, with scans and bloods every Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

I was under the assumption that it would only be 13 days (because that's the amount of meds they provided) but I was given more to take every time I went back.

A word of advice, take every day as it comes. It seemed to be a long and grueling process (I had horrible side effects to the Gonal F) but was 100% worth it in the end as I had 30 eggs collected, 17 fertilised.
