Sorry to hear that the news wasn't want you or your hubby wanted to hear..you must be reeling
I can give some words of hope.. First thing is sperm can be improved by healthy diet..well man vitamins .. exercise.. Wearing loose underwear can help..and not having hot baths as that can cook the testicles..! Sperm takes around 3 months to make.. Does your husband smoke or drink as that can have a huge effect on sperm..?
Worse case scene rio it dosent work? Instead of ivf you will prob need to have Icsi .. This is slightly different to ivf.. Everything is same as ivf till egg collection.. They will inject your eggs with the best sperm they can find and has a higher chance of fertilizing an egg..men with low counts can still be biological fathers.. I think it's amazing how much medical science has come on.. My hubby might need to have Icsi when we have our ivf as his abnormal sperm was slightly raised.. Not by much but never the less when you go through something as hard as ivf you want it to have the best chance of things working..
Good luck hunni with if all,, let me know how you get on

Hello. Sorry you are having such a awful time. I can confirm you will have to have icsi. It does not change what happens to you in a cycle just what they do in a lab. But I also want to encourage you that it's what me and my hubby are having and the success we have had with embryo quality has been fab. good luck. xx
I was just like you. I had to loose about a stone before they would do treatment and my husband had a problem with his sperm (even though he still doesn't acknowledged it).so we were offered one cycle of icsi on the nhs as they said it was the best and higher sucess rate.i can tell you it worked and i'm now nearly 29 weeks pregnant with a little girl. But I think the best advice I can give you is rest for the 2 weeks during treatment but make sure you're really healthy and happy. Good luck on your journey x
Hi, as everyone above says you will need icsi but my understanding is that they do this for everyone now as it gets better results irrespective of the fertility issue. With icsi they just need one good sperm per egg. We too had great results and our issue waswas male factor too. I'm now 24 weeks pregnant with a little girl so good luck! The way I see it, if your fertility issue is related to sperm, so long as they can fertilise an egg and put the embryo back your body will take care of the rest. It might take a few 'goes" but this was only our 2nd cycle xxx
