Has anyone had a positive pregnancy after servere preeclampsia ..
Hi Heather25. Research suggests the risk of having preeclampsia again is approximately 20%, but this depends on the severity of the first attack, so the percentage rate would rise accordingly. If you had preeclampsia during your first pregnancy, you may get it again but less severely. However, this cannot be guaranteed. If you've had it in a previous pregnancy, you and your midwife will carefully monitor you and your baby during your current pregnancy for any signs or symptoms. The risk of preeclampsia increases if you have developed hypertension or diabetes since your previous pregnancy; or if you are having IVF or a multiple pregnancies. I must say though, that with careful monitoring, I have known many women to progress with a normal live birth following preeclampsia. Diane
My sister had preeclampsia really bad second pregnancy and had her baby 10 weeks early. So far this pregnancy she's doing okay. She is at 34 weeks and her stats were fine as of this morning. Each body is different, she has been monitored very closely, and she has been very careful in what activities she gets involved in.
