My holiday to France was ready booked I wasn't due to start until when I came back, but my periods have been bit early and it just so happens that when I'm away couple of days before I'm due to come back is when I'm due a period I'm out of sequence for the first time ever in my life as.Normally im to the correct date each month every 28 days. I have rang the airline there really unhelpful and spoke to my doctor he said he can do me a doctors note that there is a small fee. That I don't mind but the airline were really not helpful they didn't really have a clue whether I can pack them in my case and take them . Or even put them in my case and check my bag in. can anyone help?

Hi Belle,

I would pack the medication really well and put it in your check in baggage. You can't take anything sharp into the cabin unless the meds are needed for your journey and only with a doctors note.

I would pay for a doctors note anyway, just in case customs stop you in France or coming back to the UK.

Have a wonderful holiday!!

Hi Belle7. I would definitely go with what jhza700 says, as you don't need it "en route". If they found it in your hand luggage, even with a doctor's note, my friend (who is cabin crew) says they would not allow it. Just disclose that it is in your main baggage with the "back up" letter. Happy hols! Diane

Hi I would check that it doesn't become damaged if it freezes in the hold as insulin does hence needs to be carried in hand luggage

Yep I'd agree with the others and as nellynel said check if the freezing will affect the meds. Quick question what protocol are you on. If you are on the long you usually only start your meds on day 21 of your cycle so would you back by then? Anyway have a wonderful holiday and good luck with your treatment.

I just went abroad. Call the airport. I just took 2 unopened boxes of gonal f and 1Ovitrelle in my hand luggage, yesterday through Stansted airport. I took it in an insulated bag with a small freezer block. I just told them as I got up to be screened that there was medicines in the bag. I have travelled 6 times with injectable drugs without a problem. (We do our treatment in Denmark). I haven't had a problem with Heathrow either. The medicine is too expensive to lose!

Thanks all for your replies. I will definitely need to take then I have worked out my days and it's the 1 day of full bleed I do my 1st injection. That day is due in my calendar the day before I arrive home. I think I can take them in hand luggage I'll go to airport this week to speak with someone I work near by anyway. Thanks again all. Xxx
