Has anyone had acupuncture during IVF/ ICSI? - If so, how does the session go? What do I do and what do they do? Do the needles just go into your head?

Has anyone had acupuncture during IVF/ ICSI?
Hi. I'm having acupuncture at the moment. I started a few months before starting our icsi cycle. They check your tongue and pulse every time you go and ask a lot of questions about you on your first appointment. I've had needles in my wrists, head, ankles, knees and tummy. It depends on the out come of the initial appointment where the needles are put and the protocol changes depending on where you are in the cycle. It doesn't hurt really. Although I find the ones in my wrists and ankles a bit tender. It was recommended to me that I have a session before the egg collection and within 48 hours of the transfer. I'd go for it if you can. Studies have shown it helps and every little helps as they say. Make sure they have done all the relevant courses and have the qualifications to practice it.
You are welcome. Good luck
Hi,
Just wondered how your first appointment went? I've just booked in for acupuncture and after talking to the acupuncturist on the phone, I feel really positive about it - he knew his stuff. Looking forward to getting started. Hope all went well.x
