I'm not sure weather it's worth having my eggs frozen and what the price difference is second time round if the first wasn't successful or for another child.
Does anyone know the difference in pr... - Fertility Network UK
Does anyone know the difference in price for ivf after having eggs frozen to starting again ?
I was told that if my first go was unsuccessful and I have frozen eggs ready and waiting my second go would be free, if they had to do the egg retrieval again the second go would cost £1500. I believe once you have a child from IVF and you want to provide a sibling etc then you have to pay for the whole second cycle. I am freezing my eggs
Hi, I'm having the same dilemma. Are you with Care? Looking at the info sheets it seems that we'll only need to make that decision IF there are any embryos worth freezing (if that makes sense). I was thinking if fresh cycles are more successful then surely we should start again completely. Sorry I cant help! xxx
Sorry Jessica, I didnt see your reply before writing the above. Are you with NHS at the moment then? xxx
Hi thanks for that, I am paying private to nurture in Nottingham. I am also being an egg donor so I'm not sure if I'll have enough to freeze or if it's worth it ?
If ther are some good enough for freezing, do it, it's not just the cost, but the protocol is much simpler, therefore your body is under less stress and therefore may take the embryo that time. There are lots of examples of success. And if you are succesful with the fresh cycle, it will be easier to have a sibling if you so desire.
Thank you flowergirl. Think I'm going to go for it x
Does anyone know what don't you have done the second time to what you have done the first time if eggs are frozen x
I had a fresh cycle last year which was unfortunately unsuccessful, but we managed to freeze 6 day 5 blastocysts. Just going through our 1st frozen cycle now and its so simple, a baseline scan, then start taking oestrogen tablets, another scan after 10 days to ensure no follicles growing, then transfer a week later! Only cost £1100 plus £40 for drugs! Definitely freeze whatever you have left. Good luck xx
Just what I wanted to hear brilliant thank you all so much . All the best with it Rosiebuns xx
Your question has really helped me too! I was unsure as what to do, if my embryos are good for freezing I'm defo going to do it. It's £800 at my clinic but if it don't work the first time then it's only another £1500 and not £6000 so it's worth it. Are you going to having the glue too?
That's good to hear. Think ours is £500 ? But not sure on the rest. What is the glue? X
