I live in London can anyone recommend a good friendly clinic
im currently having treatment at Guys Hospital - would recommend them they are very nice and have better than average success rates
Hi
Many thanks for responding, I have looked at the location and is going to be to far to travel every other day. I was going to try the Lister, have you heard any positives or negatives.
I wish you all the best. xx
ps please let me know how it goes. remember to keep positive, you only need one to work.
I am attending the Lister Clinic , almost ready for egg collection. I find them very good, very professional., helpful. Appointments for scans etc all run on time, so easy to plan your day around them. The doctors are very nice when you meet them for your first consultation but after that it's just the nurses and the person doing your scans that you meet. Again they have an excellent success rate. Would I say it's the most friendly hospital in the world? No. But I have no complaints so far. Good luck x

Thanks hon. Good luck with the Lister. The Consultant we met was DrJaya Parikh . She is lovely and very easy to talk to . I was quite nervous about scans etc but she put me at ease. But when I did my first round in Feb , Dr Alison Taylor did my egg collection and I thought she was very nice and I hope she does my egg collection this week again. She had that ' mother' way about her. Best of luck xxx
Hi Thank you so much, my clinic haven't given me any info, so that why I have decided to move clinics.
If you don't mind what was your situation? and why did you wait that long between cycles?
I am 40, and basically separated and when I decided to get married the main reason was to have a family, but have now decided to go it alone, although I have great family support. But I have a low amh, and on day 6 scan was told to abandon the cycle as I only had one follicle the correct size, but I decided I would follow through, and 3 days later they collected 4 eggs, all 4 fertilised, 2 off 8 cell embryos were transferred on day 3, the other 2 were slow growers so they were abandoned. If you have any advice it would really help. xx
I had a failed attempt in Feb, after 2 eggs were transferred and they said I had a bio chemical pregnancy. I had intended going in May again for round 2 but we had a family crisis so I only got around to start the process again in August.
I think my AMH is low too. I am nearly 42, but to be honest this time I am not on the internet except this morning. I have just gone with the flow, they have my records from the first time . I had only 6 eggs, and only 2 fertilised. So at my age I am just letting the hospital do their job. Because I firmly believe if it works this time it's a miracle.
I think you are incredibly brave to go alone . It's a tough process but I am glad you have family support. When you meet the consultant discuss all your worries and if it doesn't feel right well go to another clinic. I went to Zita West for a consultation and it didn't feel right to me and decided to try the Lister. We actually went to the Fertility show last year and met them there that's how we decided what clinic to go to. . It's on again 2-3 nov in the Olympia . All the clinics are there and its a great way to get a feel for the clinic.
Sorry I can't be of more help. I just think your fantastic! Take care x
Hi, thank you so much for sharing your experience, it just helps to know other people are in a similar boat. I wish you lots of luck and I am sure it is going to work. if it doesn't there's always a good reason, we just don't know what that reason is. Keep smiling. xx
