Me and my partner just came from the hospital and we are told that our local council only funds for one IVF/ICSI treatment. We already had one earlier this year and it was negative. Can we appeal to have a second treatment on NHS funding? Many thanks.

Is it possible appeal to have a seond IVF/ICSI treatment on the NHS funding?
You can appeal and point out that the NICE Guideline which was updated in February this year recommends funding be provided for up to three cycles for eligible couples. and that your CCG is not following national guidance by only offering one cycle. The problem is that NICE is only a guideline and the CCGs don't have to follow it, which seems a bit silly and is totally unfair. There are some template letters on the NHS funding page of our website which you can use - use them to write to your MP as well and get everyone you know to use the letters to lobby for full implementation of NICE. Anyone reading this can do the same - the more pressure we put on the more chance we have of getting fairer treatment for everyone. Good luck and let us know if we can be of any more help.

Thank you very much SusanS. I will check out those template letters and go through the appeal process.
Sorry SusanS but I cant find the template letters. I would be very grateful if you could drop the link here? Many thanks for all your help. S.
