clear blue test not matching with scan ?

can anyone help please ??

I did a test 25th October which said 3+ on clear blue

I went for a scan yesterday and they said I was 7 weeks 4 days.

according to the clear blue test I should be 7 weeks 6 days ?

but according to my LMP I should be 7 weeks 2 days ?

just worried it’s not aligning with the clear blue result and a little behind?

Thanks everyone

hi Kate

I don’t think a clear blue test can be that accurate

I would go off LMP

The scan can be off by a day or two

I think when I had my first scan I was 7 weeks and 4 days but the scan dated me at 7 weeks and 2 days.

22 weeks now and baby is growing perfectly 🙏💗

Congrats 🙌

I wouldn’t worry too much about it and definitely wouldn’t take Clearblue as the one true reference point as pregnancy hormones vary wildly between people and it just gives you another estimate. Hospitals tend to use LMP and scan dating. A few days variation in either direction is fine when you go in for scans and the 12 week scan is actually a dating scan, so you’ll get a more exact date to work from then.

I did IVF and even my IVF consultant and my maternity couldn’t agree on my exact due date, and they both were both calculating it using the age of the embryo and when it went in lol In the end the maternity went with their date and I feel it’s pretty bang on. The baby was average on all measurements at the 20 week scan. We’ll see when the due date comes round.

Hi Kate2468, I was told by my clinic their guidance is anything within 4-5 days of expected date is normal at a 7 week scan as the measurements are so tiny. So my scan at 6w6d had some measurements that were 6w2d and some 7w2d and they said that was perfect. 28 weeks and counting now. Try not to worry.

the clear. Lie just says 3+ and doesn’t get higher so anything from 5 weeks (and for me even a bit before) will say 3+ it’s just an indication. You actual due date will be calculated at your 12 week booking scan but for now you are very much on track based on your LMP and even a day or 2 bigger which is a great scan result 🤗 the LMP is also a bit of a guesstimate as they don’t know exactly when conception happened but until 12 week scan it’s the best they have to go on. Congratulations and hope you are keeping well xx
