Reflexology for labour induction

Anyone had experience of reflexology starting off labour? I’m booked in at 37 weeks and 38 weeks to see if it starts things off. Just wondered if anyone had tried this and what their experience was?

hi, i didn’t do reflexology but i did do acupuncture (apparently this used to be standard practice on induction wards but then went with cuts). I was potentially going to be induced at 37 weeks so i started it in the hope it would kick things off and i was 2cm dilated by the time i was on the ward x

Ooohhh interesting!!! I did accupuncture before most transfers which I endured rather than enjoyed 🙈 The one that worked I had a few sessions of reflexology before which I loved. I’m having one at 37 weeks and booked another at 38 weeks in case. Hope it works for me too!!!! X

Thankyou! 5.5 weeks to go eek! X

Hi Doodlebug, I had reflexology all through my pregnancy because I absolutely loved it! I had my last session at 38+6 weeks pregnant and ended up being admitted to hospital that same day with high blood pressure but my waters went 2 days later. I’ve no idea if the reflexology had any impact on that but I’d definitely say go and enjoy the reflexology sessions! I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly x
