Anyone recommend an app to record baby movement? I’ve tried count the kicks but I don’t want to count kicks I want to record with I feel movement.

Hi, hope you are and your pregnancy is progressing well. I downloading the count the kicks app however NHS does not recommend it so I stopped using it after a few days. I simply made a note of movements on my phone with the time. Personally I found it quite hard to keep it up, it would be the same on an app, but I am sure an app will give you an analysis.

At 32 weeks your baby will have more of an established movement routine including when she sleeps. This is one of the consultant doctors advised when I was kept in overnight at triage (ctg criteria failed).

Keep track on when your baby is active. My baby was active at night more so than during the day.

All babies are different. The main thing to remember is if you notice any change in movements then go to triage. This could be reduced movements or even exaggerated movements because this could be a sign of distress although for me, my baby was fine.

I don't think there is a decent app otherwise I would have used it in my recent pregnancy x

Hi, hope you don’t mind me asking. At how many weeks did you start recording movement and did you record each and every movement? I’m 25 weeks tomorrow and don’t notice much movement during the day, but once I’ve settled on sofa after dinner in the evening my baby becomes active. Some evening it’s more active than others. It’s so difficult to know what’s too little or too much movement. X

Hi, around 28 weeks. I just noted the time, I couldn't record at night but did notice movement at night when I woke up to use the bathroom. You will start to notice a pattern soon. Any concerns or changes please go to triage. I stopped recording the times but made a mental note.... My baby was born at 36+3, it was planned because I tragically previously had a stillbirth at full-term x

Thank you for your advice. I am so very sorry to hear about the stillbirth, can’t even imagine how heartbreaking that was. Thanks for sharing your experience. Xx

I didn’t feel anything till last week at 26 weeks. I can’t find an app to just note down last movement so I’m using notes on my phone. I’m not counting kicks or time or strength or anything. I just want a note of last movement.

I know it’s not a great idea maybe but I’ve watched a few things on tv and the question after a stillbirth that sticks in my head is “when did you last feel baby move?” and they always seem to say oh I can’t think….

Hope your appt goes well. It’s getting really exciting now isn’t it!!!!!

It’s so difficult not to let the sad stories stick in your mind. Yes it’s getting exciting, I love feeling movement. I feel like I’ve been pregnant forever though 🤣

I didn’t use an app I just recorded the fetal heart beat on my phone whenever I was sent for a scan, meant friends and family could hear it too

Yes I’ve got that 😊 I wanted an app to note when I feel movement so I know when I last felt it but looks like there’s no apps so I’ll have to use notes on my phone .

Hi, so happy to hear everything is going well 💖 I have a garmin watch which has a connect app and in the pregnancy bit there is a place to record movement. There might be similar for other watches? The basic Garmin watches are quite cheap and I found it useful to check my HR etc

So far so good! A few little hiccups but nothing major.

I have an Apple Watch. I’ll see if there’s anything on the health log on there x
