Anxiety 😭

Hi lovely ladies

I'm nearly 8 weeks pregnant now but can't seem to overcome the constant anxiety I'm feeling. I'm always worried something bad is going to happen because of the history. I do get comfort from scans but I start worrying again in a day or two.

Does it ever get better? If you've gone through this what helped you cope?

Thanks in advance 🙂

hiya, it’s such a difficult time! You’re excited but you can’t stop worrying! I was exactly the same.

I did get comfort from scans but like you 2 days later I was worrying again. I suffer from anxiety anyway so it was even worse in this situation. I’m 27 weeks now I still get the odd moment but I promise it does get better! I just ended up taking it day by day. Reminding myself when they had done scans everything was ok and the drs etc were really happy with everything.

I found talking about it really helped, I don’t know if you’re UK based but you should have a midwife booking appt soon if you are. I told the midwife about how I was feeling and that I had constant anxiety and they can arrange for you to speak to a midwife specialising in mental health.

Wishing you all the luck xx

I really wish you didn't have to go through it too but I'm glad you are getting better at managing it with time. Hopefully I will too. Thank you so much for the info 💚

Hello Xoya, I am sorry to hear about your history. What helped me cope, was my 2 young boys who aided as a distraction for me so i didn't have time to think about the past. Of course if you need a minute to grieve or cry, do that in private or with your partner or close person, a friend? Also if you don't have other children, you can listen to mindfulness tracks or music. These would help me when I do get private time alone. Also here on this thread or any other online community has also helped me to cope. I wish you the best and manifest that all will be well and good 🙏

my first pregnancy was like this, I had to take it hour by hour, mainly so I didn’t book a reassurance scan, then when it got to close time it felt like I’d accomplished something, then the same the next day. We didn’t actually tell anyone about the pregnancy until 21 weeks as I was so worried I’d have to tell everyone we lost the baby. But…he’s 4 now, and our second frostie is 2 in September and that pregnancy was so much different. I’m not sure there is any tips of how to get through because the worry is what it is and only your mind can overcome that. It helped when I started buying little things though, kinda said to myself ok this is going to work. You just have to take it day by day and be so so kind to yourself. When a negative thought pops up, tell yourself no and think of something positive instead. The sad/worry thoughts serve no purpose for something that might not even happen, so we need to try our best to drag in the good moments of it will be ok, there is no reason it won’t be, regardless of history. All the best with your pregnancy ❤️❤️❤️ keep thinking about seeing those little toes!!! x x x
