I've had my bloods done 2 days ago which showed that hcg was above 15k. We never made it this far so I'm a bit hopeful. Because of my history of losses I was given an early scan today. According to my dates I'm 6 weeks 2 days but my scan showed that I'm only 5 and 1/2 weeks pregnant. There was no heartbeat and the doctor said something about having to be 7mm which I didn't fully understand mostly because of how anxious I was. He said the location is good and we just need to repeat the scan in a week. I've been stressing since then and I just can't stop worrying.
Please could you share your experiences? Any advice is welcome.
Thanks ☺️

Hey! I have heard of this before on this group, people being asked to come back a week later and it’s gone well. I will look for the post. I hope that reassures you a little. It’s all so worrying at this stage but try to keep positive. Thinking of you. Xxx
Hi Xoya, many clinics won't do a scan before 7 weeks as things move so quickly at this stage and a week makes all the difference. I had my scan at 7 weeks and measured 6w4d. My scans at 10 weeks and 12 weeks both then showed baby measuring ahead by 3-4 days. The margins for error on measurements are tiny at this stage. If they said come back in a week, things are still on track so try to stay positive. Keeping everything crossed for you xx
I delayed going for my first scan till 7 weeks on advice off this forum. I’d seen lots of posts saying no guarantee to see heartbeat until then. Hang in there! And congratulations! ☺️☺️
I’m still on the back foot with it at 21+6 weeks! The only way I can deal with it is to try and put it out of my mind. Though the further on I get the easier it gets. It’s the old adage, 1 day at a time! X
hi, I think it’s a bit early to see too much. Was the scan transvaginal or transabdominal?
I had a scan at 6 weeks and they couldn’t see enough TA so went TV and could see more. Still asked me back at 7 weeks when could see more. Good luck, I know it’s an anxious time in these early stages, stay positive xx
Just wanted to update that everything is fine. Baby is healthy with a strong heartbeat and everything looks completely normal. They are going to keep a close eye on me though because of the history. Thank you for your support and kind words 🥹💚
