Baby’s Position

hello, I am 20+4 wks & over the past couple of mornings when I have woke on the left side there has been a bump sticking out more so than on the right. Baby is moving (although not visibly moving yet) - could it be that he is lying on one side ? And it’s his back I can feel ?

This is my first baby - so everything is new. I know it sounds silly but it’s so surreal that I am possibly feeling his little body now. But wondering if it’s normal ?

Thanks in advance - Kate x

Hey lovely, FTM (19+1) over here too and finding everything quite amazing and overwhelming at the same time.

Just to say that I've noticed my bump is bigger on my left side too!

I've been mainly feeling the flutters on my left side and I was told the baby is in a transverse (sideways) position, so I'm guessing I'm either feeling the punches or kicks depending on which way he's laying. He's been knocking on my bladder too 😅

I also have an anterior placenta so depending on where that is it might be contributing to an uneven bump xxx

hi lovely x baby was in transverse like you but at 20 wk scan this week he was head down with bum near my belly button. And it’s the side she said his bum was I can feel the bump - it’s so so strange. I told my friend and she said you have entered the alien phase 😂 since last Saturday his movements have gotten so much stronger & my husband felt him for the first time too a couple of nights ago x hope you are okay and enjoying pregnancy, i feel like I’ve relaxed a little since 20wk scan and feeling more movement 💞

Hi Kate. Sounds like a little bottom me. Legs tucked under so very little movement just yet. Try lying on you back. Babies hate backbones, so will wiggle over. See your midwife if you’re worried. Hope Dad or another Mum to be, is reading baby a bedtime story now every night. Hope the second half progresses well. Diane
