Baby’s movements

Hello! Hope everyone is well, just wanted to get other perspectives and any tips.

Im currently 30weeks and feel baby move regularly but over the last few days I’ve been quite busy and on the go so don’t keep track of his movements through the day (usually I’m relaxing on the sofa so always feel if he moves or kicks)

Is it normal to not notice any movements when you’re active or busy? Not sure if he’s just been asleep because I’ve been moving a lot or if I’ve just not noticed the movements because my mind has been occupied.

Thanks!

Hi I'm 35 weeks and only feel baby move when I'm not busy. It's very normal to not feel baby move when very busy. I have two children and they keep me very busy and feel my little one move when I'm sat down. Or layed down.

Thank you! Once I’d sat down and relaxed I felt him moving about as usual! X

It is common to notice movements less when you’re busy with other things. I would take an hour to sit or lie somewhere calm though and do a kick count. If you’ve got any concerns after doing that don’t worry about being a pain or anything just contact your antenatal team and they’ll get you in for a check to reassure you. They don’t mind at all! Xx

Thank you! Once I’d sat down he started booting away at me as usual, I don’t think I register any movements when my mind is occupied xx

I was thinking the same thing today as I was so busy I almost forget my baby was in there!!

I really notice movement when I am relaxing and have some food - so that reassures me....

Xxx

Yep I’m the same! When I’m just sitting and relaxing he likes to have a good wiggle especially when I’m trying to go to sleep! X

if I was worried, I would have a glass of cold water & something to eat. That often got baby moving but if you even have the slightest doubt, get checked out. Even just to put your mind at rest. As Solly said, they don’t mind & can advise you best about normal vs not normal.x
