Hi all, I have been unable to conceive for 1.5 years and have been having testing to ascertain what could be causing it. I had a series of hormone tests done, all fine except prolactin which was in the 600s. I had to have it repeated 6 weeks later and it went up again to 900s. I am having nausea/vomiting, breast pain/growth, headaches, vision disturbances and rapid weight gain. I was refered to endocrinology in early April and have been advised the waiting list is a year. I will be 31 soon and becoming increasingly depressed due to the inability to conceive and side-effects of the prolactin. Does anyone have any experience with going private for an endocrinology appointment? I can't really afford it, but I don't see any other option currently.

Your levels arent massively high. Have you had your thyroid checked? Mine was a little high, not massively but too high for conception...over 2.....mine was 4.96 if I remember correctly. I went onto thyroxine and my levels came down. Also prolactin rises as you sleep and comes down after waking so if you're having your levels check around 4 hours after waking is best. I put a post on this ages ago if you want to look back. Hope you get it sorted.xxx
