Hi there, I’m afraid I wasn’t on exactly the same meds as you but I was kept on progesterone pessaries until 16 weeks due to some bleeding. A lot of people with no bleeding stop much earlier and the plan was originally to stop progesterone at 8 weeks . This seems to vary a lot between clinics as I suspect you will find when you get more responses. Your clinic will keep you right.

Hello,

I continued taking steroids until week 13 of pregnancy, clexane until week 32 (supposed to have taken them until week 36, but I had a bleed at 32 weeks and so was told to stop them), and progesterone until week 16 I think. Xx

My clinic policy is to take all meds until you reach 12 weeks as the placenta kicks in before then and does the job that the extra progesterone was doing. I waited until my 12 week scan showed all was ok and placenta was doing its job before stopping. But had to restart the Clexane at 26 weeks and have to take it until 6 weeks after birth due to age and it being an IVF pregnancy. X

Inhope you don't mind me jumping in...! Can i ask why you were advised to restart clexane at 26 weeks? Mine is also an IVF pregnancy and I am 41. Not sure if i should be enquiring about this? Thank you!

Because I ticked 3 risk categories at start of pregnancy my bmi was borderline, I'm over 35 and it is IVF pregnancy which are all low risk categories. In my area if you tick 3 or more low risk categories you are automatically put on blood thinners from 26 weeks until 6 weeks after birth. Not all areas are the same though.

Oh wow - so my BMI was borderline at just over 25. Is that what yours was?

My bmi was 29.8 and 30 or over is considered a risk x

ok thank you xxx

Cyclogest I was on until 12 weeks then reduced dose for weaning off until 14 weeks.

I didn't have confimed low progesterone, it was precautionary due to bleeding in the 2nd half of my cycle pre getting pregnant.

hi

For me I had a natural cycle (FET) so nothing additional than the below. Hope this helps.

Cyclogest pessaries - stopped when I was 10 weeks pregnant

Clexane - remained on these until I was 12 weeks pregnant (then restarted for the last trimester!)

I was on cyclogest until 15weeks, then put back on it at 23weeks due to cervix being borderline short. I’ve been told to stay on cyclogest until 34weeks.

I started Clexane the day I got a positive test and will take it until the day before we have the baby (planned Caesarian). HATE these injections!! Currently 26weeks x

Thank you - may I please ask, was the NHS midwife able to advise you on these changes (when to re-start etc) or you were monitored in a private clinic? I din’t have a private clinic and I am not sure the midwives are competent enough as these are add-ons usually given by the private clinics.

so I was under a miscarriage clinic (privately) who recommended I was on the Clexane. We had to go private for IVF and I was convinced after our last loss that I wasn’t on progesterone for long enough. They wouldn’t agree, which why would they? It would mean they were at fault. But they were happy to leave me on progesterone longer as that’s what I was asking for. It was always consultants though, never midwives! The pre term clinic were the ones who put me back on progesterone. Again, they were doctors not midwives. Xx

Hi, all clear and I was thinking it is not the midwives :)

Do you mean preterm NHS clinic or again one of the private ones?
