Upset stomach, nearly 20 weeks

Has anyone suffered with an upset stomach during pregnancy and was everything okay?

I’m 20 weeks on Wednesday but don’t have my 20 week scan til a week today.

I started with the runs at half past midnight, only the once then and once today at 2pm, my stomachs been bubbling and gargling all day. I’m worried because I’ve read that diarrhoea can mean miscarriage etc and obviously my minds gone in to overdrive.

Any response would be appreciated x

I had the same worry about ten days ago, when I was 10+6 weeks pregnant and had an upset stomach every time I ate. I read the same thing you did about diarrhoea and miscarriage and got quite stressed! I called the EPU and their advice was basically that your uterus, bladder, and digestive system are all in the same neighbourhood, so when something happens with one, it can affect all the others, and it's perfectly normal to have changes like constipation or diarrhoea during pregnancy. But, if you are worried, speak to your midwife or GP for some reassurance. x

Thank you, I’m not throwing up and like I say I’ve only actually been to the toilet twice, in almost 24hrs, I just feel drained and offside x

Make sure drinking plenty of fluids and eat a light diet -little portions and often . But as 1st post says speak to your midwife/doctor for some reassurance Take care

Thank you for your reply. I’m absolutely fine today and everything’s gone back to normal 🙂 so hopefully whatever it was has passed xxx
