Hi all, Just starting our 2nd IVF attempt with a FET, with our only frozen embryo. We’ve been trying for 2 years, tests show I have a low AMH of around 4, and husband had varicocele causing low motility, count & shape. We had ICSI in spring this year which sadly didn’t implant, so really nervous about this round and so praying it will work. I’m also extra worried because the FET should roughly be around the 6th Aug but have a friends hen do on the 9th (bridesmaid, so fully involved in planning etc). Ideally I’d like to just hunker down and be really chill for a few days after the FET but worried that the hen do won’t be the place to manage this! How ‘chilled’ and low key should I be after the FET or can I just carry on like normal? Obviously won’t be drinking, just more worried about getting super engrossed in activities like kayaking and dance class that we’ve planned.
Any advice appreciated. Whether that's from a successful or failed FET and what you did after your transfer, would be a comfort to know.
Thanks.

Hi, you can carry on as normal but don't overdo it. Rest but do mild to moderate activities. Kayaking might be too much but dance classes should be alright. All the best in your journey!
Hi Elderflower48, I think the hen do sounds like a great distraction! I've done 5 FETs and they can vary transfer to transfer. Some you will feel totally fine and able to do loads. Others you might feel a bit crampy, tired, or have a headache. So it will just be a case of listening to your body. How you feel in those days will be largely dependent on how you are reacting to the drugs rather than the embryo, so try not to panic. I'd relax and enjoy it unless and until my body said to take a break. It also depends how fit you are now. A slow kayak on a flat lake will probably be fine but I'd maybe avoid anything like canyoning or rapids, unless that is your usual sunday activity...! You will know yourself when it comes to it if you are comfortable doing it or not! Have fun! x
