Back ache 5 weeks pregnant

Hi all, I was hoping for some advice, similar stories.. I’ve had a positive test from my first ivf cycle for a week and a half now but I’m guessing I’m around 5 weeks pregnant. I’ve had horrendous back ache for over a week but put it down to ohss. It got better for a day but now I’ve been in pain all night and I’m constantly worrying about miscarrying (had an early one last year… I’ve hardly slept all night). Thank you everyone

Congrats on your BFP! I totally get it, its such a worrying time in those early weeks.

The back ache could be any number of reasons and definitely doesn't necessarily mean another miscarriage - so try to stay calm. Often the progesterone can cause it, as can the uterus stretching, so it can be a good sign as much as a bad one! As a general rule unless you have strong abdominal cramps or bleed a lot of red blood anything else tends to be just the uterus sorting itself out and baby nestling in. Try and think positive as there is nothing you can do to influence this except keeping calm, eating the right things and PMA! We are so hyper aware of our bodies at this time its natural to worry. Just remember every pregnancy is different and just because you miscarried last time there is unlikely to be any correlation with this one and no reason why this one doesn't go to term.
