I’m just curious about how many go into blastocysts as everything online is conflicting and I’m super scared that all the good news is going to end in a few days.
Could you let me know how many of your fertilised eggs made it?
Thanks! Anxiety is really kicking in right now

Congratulations on you 5 fertilised embryos! I've had 2 egg collections so far. First one, 8 eggs collected, 7 fertilised, 2 made it for blastocyst. Second one, 15 collected, 11 fertilised, 3 made it to day 5. Fingers crossed all your embies keep growing!! Xx
Don't worry! I think my eggs are just a bit old and struggle to survive. I've started taking CoQ10 now as recommended by my consultant, to start preparing for another egg collection. I still have a frozen embryo but want to get as many as possible before I turn 40. Best of luck on Monday!!! Xx
Hey, just wanted to share my previous results with you. As you already know, like you currently waiting for news on my current 5 eggs fertilised.
I have had 2 cycles before. First cycle 4 fertilised, 1 blastocyst resulted in a BFN. Second cycle, 4 fertilised, 2 blastocyst-in freezer. I did start using Coq10 for second cycle after first cycle failed. Don’t know if it made a difference.
I hope this helps! Hoping it all goes well over the next few days xxx
Thanks for this! I’ve just had another call from the hospital and they’ve told me to prepare for an embryo transfer on Monday! I’m not sure why they’ve asked me to do this before the Blastocysts has formed! I’m super scared now! Xx
Don’t be nervous - it is quite common in fresh transfers. In my first cycle, they may have done the same thing but Covid meant they could not complete the cycle so I was forced to wait to day 5 and only one embryo made it. I may have had 2 embryos transferred on day 2 or 3 if Covid did not spoil my plans!
When they call you in, it is because they would rather do a transfer because your uterus is a better environment for your embryos than a Petri dish. They don’t want to risk none of your embryos making it to day 5 and having no embryos to transfer. Think of it as giving your embryos the best possible chance to survive.
I am doing a freeze all embryos over 3 cycles which is why I have to wait to day 5.
Sorry- I was also going to add that being scared is completely understandable and natural. I was absolutely scared during my first cycle. It even affected by sleep!
Not surprised! IVF is taxing physically and mentally. I am not too bad- I also have some pain but it is more uncomfortable than anything else. Experience has taught me that it will ease. Hope yours eases soon xxx
Lol! I would personally watch something more fast paced or even a comedy to laugh to relieve some stress and release some endorphins! Have a nice evening hun xx
