After a very long wait since January (and a failed laparoscopy to clear my tubes 14 months ago) I have finally had both my tubes removed, I thought I would feel sad about it once it was done but I just feel relieved, this was the first step to IVF for me and we can finally get the ball rolling, they are keeping me in for the night but all went well, I want to cry and smile at the same time x any advice for recovery when I go home, I do plan on resting and making the most if having some down time while I recover x

I had my tubes removed too. I don’t remember the recovery being too bad, but I did have a terrible shoulder pain that apparently is very normal but no one warned me about! I felt relieved too in a way it meant no more just hoping it would we would miraculously fall pregnant. I also went on to have success with IVF.

Good luck xx

Hi thank you for your reply, I had a laparoscopy to unblock my tubes last year which didn't work but I was warned about the shoulder pain, I was lucky enough that it didn't affect me, but this time its been quite painful, not sure how long it will last though.

My tubes were causing me quite a lot of discomfort so I'm glad for that reason they're gone and of course now I can move onto the dream of having my own family, I hope the IVF works for me,

Did your IVF work the first time or did you have to try many tines? X

We had 3 fresh unsuccessful cycles but our FET and last chance worked. X

So to have 3 fresh transfers does that mean you had three rounds of egg collection? Also how quickly after each unsuccessful transfer can you have the next attempt?

I did have three collections. We waited 3 months roughly I can’t honestly remember now the exact time. I think most clinics want you to wait 3 months.
