Hay, starting my injections tomorrow night. I hate needles so my aunt who’s a nurse will be doing them- only problem is in a couple of days I will need to do an injection and 7am and can’t really asked her to do them ones.

I have a huge fear of needles any advice how to deal with this?!

Apply an ice pack for 5 minutes before injecting, it takes the sting out of it 😉

Good luck xx

I know exactly how you feel, my partner works away so I had to go through the injections on my own. My mum helped me with the first ever one but after that I was ok. It took a while to actually stick the needle into my tummy at first l but as Penny 24 says, use an ice pack it really does work.

Also, a lot of people say to pinch the skin but I find that painful so I don't. Treat yourself with something after the injection to give yourself something to look forward too and above all else, remember the reason you are doing the injections, that ought to give you the courage to push through it. I promise you they aren't as bad as you think and they are over in seconds x

Had my first ones tonight and was actually really shocked! Got my aunt to do them as she’s a nurse but I feel like when I do the 7 am ones il be brave enough to do them without having to get my aunt to come over :)

I will use the ice packs when I have to do them myself! Thanks for your support and advice xx

Hi Tinker,

How are you now? This thread has given me more confidence in the injections, as I should be starting soon. I hope everything is going perfectly for you. xx

Hi Smurf

I am very well thank you. I hope you are well.

The injections are honestly fine I have always been petrified of needles and I am able to inject myself now. They tend to get you to use kids needles so they are tiny and painless.

I hope all goes well for you xx
