Start injections tomorrow

So this is my first round of IVF and I've never looked forward to my AF to arrive until this, nurse confirmed today that I can start my injections tomorrow and I'm nervous and excited that it's finally arrived, I know we still have a long road ahead and nothing is certain but any advice for the first time would be great X x

Hey Bernie. There is another forum on health unlocked which is called Fertility Network that has more people on it it seems so may be worth popping in there..

There is a great mindfulness app for IVF called Mindful IVF which has a mindfulness session for every day of your cycle which I always use as its a great way to stop obsessing about things for a few minutes! My advice would be to think positive and think of it as a hurdle race- there are so many ups and downs but a bad day one day doesnt necessarily mean the next day will be a bad day too.. you literally just need to keep going day in day out.

Hi Bernie, I also start my injections today! First time! I’m also nervous but excited. I think I’m just going to take it one day at a time. I hate needles, so I’ve managed to get my GP to do a few with me the first time. What meds are you on? I start with the gonal f. xx

Hi London girl, I think I'm ok with needles, it will be a different story when I have to stick myself though ha ha, I'm sure we will both be fine.I'm going to be taking meriofert and then will be taking a second one in a few days called cetrotide.

hi am on same 1st medication as you done 2 of injections I have some question for you in my folder that I recived my plan said if my periode arrives between serterm days I have to take the contraceptive pill until the day the have marked which was 5 days from 1st day of my periode on the 5th day ive started my night injection 💉all went well but seens coming off my periode am spotting now I dont know if that can happen due to hormon changing my clinic just said could be last clear out am not sure what to fink my scan is on 24th wenesday to check how my ovarys have responded I dont know whats my body is doing this is my 1st time of ivf ..any idea?

Hi, Bernie. Firstly, I'm having every bone in my body crossed for your luck. I remember I was super nervous about starting the injections. I think I had needle phobia..So I had my dh to do them for me for the first days. Then I got used and managed to do injectibles myself..That was a story 😅 Anyway, we're strong ladies fighting for our luck💪 You're the same too, I'm sure. What you can do now is to behave like you've already prego. Eat well, sleep well, rest well. Have someone by your side to talk to and distract you. My last DE IVF in faraway Kiev brought us our adorable DS. Wishing you all the very best on your way x
