Which blood test results do you watch?

Hello everyone - I have been dealing with fatty liver for a couple of years now. The CT and US show some cirrhosis, but the fibroscan indicates no cirrhosis, only the fatty liver. My liver enzymes are in range. In 2020 I had some abnormal immunoglobulin readings, and elevated white blood cell count. That issue seemed to resolve itself. My question is - what other kinds of tests, aside from liver enzymes, do all of you watch during this journey? I'm scheduled for a follow-up fibroscan next month, after my recent CT again showed some cirrhosis. So far, there hasn't been a definitive answer whether there is cirrhosis or not, as the various scans show different results. I'm reviewing blood history and unsure which, if any, of those tests might indicate a concern.

I use LiverFast through Quest Labs. I’m located in the U.S. There’s a link in the Pinned Post on this test.

Platelets, albumin plus Fibroscans, ultrasounds and contrast-dye MRIs.

Hi jpenny

Beyond the AST ALT that most folks worry about, with NASH we commonly watch bilirubin, albumin, platelets, and GGT. Since diabetes is commonly a comorbid condition glucose is a typical concern. We also keep an eye on the usual villains cholesterol and triglycerides since systemic problems are so common. Not sure that helps much, we tend to worry about everything.

Hi I agree - very confusing! my MRI’s and CT scans show signs of some but all my blood work is fine. Fibroscans show F2.Was told the only true way to No is biopsy…and even that might be false positive. At this point not doing a biopsy because whether you to or don’t have Cirr it treated the same. watch diet - exercise - weight lose - little or no alcohol….everything in moderation.
