I had no symptoms but my general practioner ordered blood tests and I had slightly elevated enzymes. I am not overweight or diabetic and do not have high blood pressure. I ate a pretty healthy diet and drank socially. All scans indicated my liver was normal size with no fat but the fibroscan indicated I had fibrosis. My doctor kept telling me I didn't fit the profile for this disease so I went thought with a liver biospy which indicated I had stage 3 fibrosis with minimal fat in my liver. Six months later after walking an average of 16K to 20K steps a day and following a meditterean diet my latest biospy indicates my fibrosis is regressing and there is no ballooning in my liver and there is no steatosis (fat) in my liver. I had a second biospy only because I was trying to get into a clinical trial which I was rejected because my liver is healing. Also I do not drink any alcohol.

My platelets and triglycerides have always been normal but my doctors keep telling me I am unusual and feel my condition is caused by genetics. I had hardly any fat in my liver but sometimes I think when they can't explain tests or ailments they go with the diagnosis of nash.

Do you use a lot of nsaids or tylenol, arthritis meds. My test indicated different readings but gastroligist willing to settle with fibroscan that indicated cirrhosis stage 4. Switched doctor had biopsy which indicated Stage 1 mild fatty liver in zone 3. What I read about zone 3 is the zone that can be affected by these types of drugs. However in the beginning my liver was enlarged that caused the fibrosis. Gastroligist indicated the cause was fats and sugars, hepotoligist never said but did say absolutely no alcohol which was fine I don't drink and watch sugars and fats, limit or stop drugs that go through the liver. I take nothing that is cleared by my liver unless life and death.
