How long to improve glucose

How long did it take for you to improve your blood sugar levels or eliminate T2 diabetes with diet and exercise? Been eating healthy and exercising for about 2 months and lost 5 lbs but fasting blood sugar hasn’t improved. Does it take a long time or does it depend on how much weight you lose?

I would say it took me about 4 months to get off Diabetes medication. I think what helped me completely was that I had H Pylori for years and years and it wasn’t until that was eliminated with antibiotics. The wonderful doctors had also missed this for years until I demanded they run tests to remedy my extreme bloating.

I got to the point where I did not want to drink or eat anything because my stomach would balloon up.

I believe the H Pylori was causing all sorts of issues and preventing me from losing weight or normalizing my blood sugars.

The minute, I got rid of H pylori, the weight started coming off and my blood sugar started regulating on its own. I was still taking diabetes medication but had to stop because my blood sugar was getting into the 60’s and dangerously low.

I have now been off the medication for 1 1/2 years and will never be back on it. It has totally normalized.

I would say to make sure you do not have any other stomach or issues that may prevent you from losing weight or normalize your blood sugars.

Everyone is different. I am just telling you what happened to me. Wish you the best.

Wow I never would have thought about H-pylori preventing weight loss. What test did you have to confirm the infection? So glad you are now doing well.

Thanks. There are three tests - breath test, stool test and blood test. The most accurate is the breath test where they give you some liquid to drink and then blow into a couple small bags and then close them. Very easy test. The next most accurate is stool followed by blood test. Most doctors will blow this also and order a blood test which may not give you accurate results.

I had a doctor order the blood test first which showed no H Pylori. I then found out breath test was more accurate and had my PCP order this and it showed positive. H Pylori is contagious, so if you are married or living with someone and kiss etc they will also have it.
